ENGINEERING SUMMARY - VERTICAL PRESSURE LEAF FILTER (VPL)

Greig Filters, Inc, (GFI) VPL filters are ideally suited for oilfield filtration due to the compactness of the equipment, which means large filter area can be installed in low foot prints area.  Cleanliness and ease of operation is another factor contributing to the success of GFI filters.  The GFI VPL filter utilizes Diatomaceous Earth (DE) material for precoat and body during filtration.

GFI enhances the benefit of the VPL filter by integrally combining the precoat/bodyfeed mixer, feed pump and downstream (guard) cartridge filters.

All vessels are constructed of stainless steel which eliminates special linings and reduces corrosion contaminates.  The GFI model DE units are also user friendly, i.e., orderly clean out, less mechanical components and reduced moving parts enables the operator to perform at the safest level.  There are no air diaphragm pumps or air compressor to be concerned with while filtering.

The larger DE filter unit (1000) has removable filter leaf packages which is beneficial while cleaning leaf of scale or cement or during general periodic maintenance.  This feature is unique to GFI filter and has won acclaim in many industries.
